The MetLife Assurance Board
Our board is comprised of six directors, including two non-executive directors, bringing experience and expertise in actuarial, investment and risk management disciplines to MetLife Assurance. Like the MetLife Assurance management team, our board is well established within the UK and global pensions and risk management arenas, and committed to providing pension solutions that help our clients better manage their risk.
- Robin Lenna – Chair

Robin is Executive Vice President of Metlife, Inc., responsible for MetLife’s Corporate Benefit Funding and Retirement and Savings businesses. Since May, 2006, Ms. Lenna has overseen a broad range of retirement solutions, benefit funding, and investment products, including the pension and annuity businesses in the US and UK. She is Chairman of the Board of MetLife Assurance Limited. She was named Executive Vice President in January 2010. She joined MetLife during 2004 as Senior Vice President, Chief Risk Officer of MetLife, Inc.

- Norman Cumming – Non-Executive Director

Norman runs CR Global, a global macro hedge fund investing in bonds and currencies that he created in 2006. He has spent most of his career in investment management, retiring from the role of Global Head of Fixed Income for UBS Global Asset Management in 2001. In addition to UBS Global AM and its precursors, Norman has also worked at HM Treasury, Shell International and the capital markets consultancy Makinson Cowell. He has a first class degree in Economics from Cambridge University.
Norman is a Trustee, and Chairman of the Investment Committee, of UnLtd, the charity for social entrepreneurs; and a member of the Investment Committee of Clare College, Cambridge.

- Dan DeKeizer – Chief Executive Officer

Dan is an actuary and has held several senior leadership roles during 20 years with MetLife both in the US and overseas. Most recently he held a senior position in MetLife’s Retirement Strategies Group, based in New York, where he was responsible for financial, capital and risk management issues as well as product strategy and development. Other roles have included Chief Financial Officer for MetLife Iberia in Spain, followed by two years in MetLife’s Corporate Risk Management area where he led the development of risk analytics.

- Frank Donnantuono – Director

Frank is Senior Managing Director and Head of the Portfolio Management Unit in MetLife’s Investments Department. In this role he is responsible for Domestic & International Portfolio Management, Investment Income Planning, Investments Strategy, Market Strategy and Capital Markets activities. Previously, he was Co-Head of MetLife’s Fixed Income & Equity Investments Department, with specific responsibility for oversight of investments in leveraged bank loans, public high yield bonds, mezzanine debt, distressed securities and private equity.

- David Hargrave – Non-Executive Chairman

David joined the MetLife Assurance Board in April 2007 and chairs the Audit Committee.
David is a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries with over 30 years’ experience as a consultant. He is currently Non-Executive Chairman at engage Mutual and the Independent Trustee of a number of pension funds, including those sponsored by Royal Mail Group and Inchcape plc.
Previously David was Non-Executive Director and Chairman of Deutsche Bank UK Life and Head of Bacon & Woodrow’s (now Hewitt’s) UK Benefits & Investment Practice.

- Stanley Talbi – Director

Stan is Executive Vice President of financial and risk management for MetLife. He is responsible for corporate actuarial functions, reinsurance, pricing oversight, asset-liability management, international actuarial, pricing oversight and enterprise risk management functions. He was appointed to his current position in September 2005, was named Executive Vice President in December 2005, and assumed responsibility for enterprise risk management in November 2008. Stan also is Chief Financial Officer of MetLife Insurance Company of Connecticut.

- Stephanie Fuller – Head of Legal and Compliance

Stephanie was admitted as a solicitor in 1992 and since then has specialised in financial services law and compliance. Her career has been divided between private practice (DLA and City Law Partnership) and in-house positions as a senior legal adviser at Lincoln Financial Group and Head of Legal at the Railways Pension Scheme.

- Paula Young – Solicitor / Company Secretary

Paula is responsible for the provision of company secretarial services to MetLife Assurance. Paula is also responsible for provision of legal and compliance services to MetLife Assurance. She is a qualified solicitor and chartered secretary. Prior to joining MetLife Assurance, Paula worked at the Railways Pension Scheme.

- Yogash Dulabh – Head of Finance

Yogash has responsibility for MetLife Assurance’s Financial functions. He is a qualified actuary with over 15 years experience in the life insurance industry. Before joining MetLife Assurance he spent 5 years with Ernst & Young in the Life Actuarial department where he gained experience of financial reporting and reserving as a senior manager on a number of large insurance audits. He was also the longevity subject matter expert which has given him a key insight into the risks that MetLife Assurance faces in the bulk annuity market.

- Philip Overy – Chief Risk Officer

Philip is responsible for the risk management of MetLife Assurance. He has over 10 years experience in the insurance industry qualifying as an actuary in 2005. Prior to joining MetLife Assurance Philip worked as a consultant at Milliman.

- Emma Watkins – Head of Relationship Management

Emma is responsible for securing new business within the bulk annuity market through the development and management of ongoing relationships and enhancing MetLife Assurance’s profile within the industry. Emma has over 12 years experience in the pensions arena, holding positions with ACE Europe, Hazell Carr Pensions Consulting and Prudential, where she had product management, operational and client management responsibilities for multi-disciplined defined benefit and pension technical areas.

- Dan Cradock – Business Development Manager

Dan is responsible for securing new business within the bulk annuity market through Trustee and Adviser relationships in the UK. Dan also has responsibility for developing MetLife Assurance’s product book, working closely with Adam Davis our Pricing Actuary. Dan has over 14 years experience in the pensions arena, where he held positions with Jardine Lloyd Thompson, Invesco Perpetual Pensions Limited and Aon Consulting.

- Adam Davis – Relationship Manager and Pricing Actuary

Adam is responsible for Trustee and Adviser relationships in the UK with a focus for clients outside of London. In performing this role Adam takes a lead in the negotiation and completion of business opportunities where MetLife Assurance is in an exclusive relationship with a client. Adam is also the Pricing Actuary and has responsibility for the product development process, including the pricing of these products. Previously, Adam worked at the Co-operative Insurance Society as a pricing actuary, as well as being heavily involved in their annuity reinsurance transactions. Adam is a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries.

- Simon Dunsby – New Business Manager

Simon is the actuary responsible for overseeing the production of buyout quotations. He has 10 years of pensions experience, including seven years with Higham Dunnett Shaw (now part of Capita Hartshead) where he worked with trustees to wind up pension schemes. He is therefore particularly aware of the challenges that trustees face when undertaking a buyout of benefits. Simon is a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries.

- Dayle Noonan – Relationship Manager

Dayle is responsible for Trustee and Adviser relationships in the UK with a focus for clients in the Southern region. In performing this role Dayle takes a lead in the negotiation and completion of business opportunities where MetLife Assurance is in an exclusive relationship with a client. Previously Dayle worked in business development at XL Re on a range of annuity, term insurance and critical illness reinsurance transactions. Prior to that he worked at Royal & SunAlliance and Norwich Union. Dayle is a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries.

- Alistair Finlayson – Head of Operations

Alistair is responsible for day to day Operations, including the Implementation and Administration Functions. He has over 20 years experience in the insurance and reinsurance industries with knowledge of the UK Life, Pensions and Health markets. Prior to joining MetLife Assurance Alistair worked at Lloyds, Swiss Re and XL Re where he held operational and client management responsibilities.

- Arlene Deane – Planning and Communications

Arlene’s responsibilities include project management, the strategic planning process, internal communications and training and development. Arlene has 35 years experience in the Insurance and Reinsurance industries in the Life, P&C and IT areas.

- Paul Fearon – Senior Implementation Technician

Paul is responsible for supporting the implementation function. He has over 25 years in-house and third party experience in occupational pensions including responsibility for administration, implementation, project management and client relationship management. He is a qualified Prince2 Practitioner and was previously a QPA Assessor.

- Richard Warne – Implementation Manager

Rich is responsible for day to day quality assurance at MetLife Assurance. Richard has 30 years experience in the Life Reinsurance industry. He has been responsible for establishing the administration teams in three start up companies in the UK market over the past 10 years most recently with XL Re.
